1. Curve at normal Uheater, as far as my hardware can go. Certainly a tube with Mu of 2 needs a -100V grid driver while I can only supply -10V
2. How about using it as a rectifier diode? Curves with grid hooked to cathode. Expect 40V voltage drop at max current. As the above chart suggests it is pretty safe for the grid, at 0 bias grid current is under 100 uA. As for the perils of cold-starting the tube like a usual rectifier - I don't know.
